Approx 50gm 4ply
Tension - approx 7 sts and 10 rows = 1 in or 2.5 cm
Size - 9 in (23 cm) approx

Bring forward 25 alternate needles, work 1 row, hang on cast-on comb. Bring forward other needles to make 50. St.st 90 rows. Take off on waste. Divide work in half (right sides tog), put back on machine (2 sts every needle) 25 sts. Remove waste, work 1 row at largest tension, latch off. Return to cast on sts. Pull in (not out)yarn and gather up all sts tightly. Sew up a third of the length. Can be finished off with crochet edging - or try one of the knitted edgings.

To alter for different sizes

Toddlers 22 sts wide 50 rows long
Men 62 sts wide 110 rows long

This is a very simple pattern and lends itself to all kinds of patterns or do stripes using up all your bits and pieces.

If you want to use a heavier yarn weight, do a tension square and work out sts and rows accordingly.
